Quick Thoughts

For months Jer and I were determined to be surprised by the gender of baby #3 (actually, Jer was more adamant -- I was merely supportive). He figured that since we had one of each, we're prepared either way. I saw his logic, but I was dying inside. I LOVE finding out at the big u/s, and I love thinking of the baby as a specific gender because it's more personalizing -- I actually have a pronoun for my fetus. Jer looked at me the other day and asked why we were waiting. I reminded him that it was HIS idea. Anyway, we came to the conclusion that on May 1st we will indeed be finding out. In one week! Agghh!!

Jayce has been suffering from headaches lately (I'm kind of concerned and hope he hasn't inherited my proclivity to migraines). He told me that they were from cracks in his brain, but then the cracks go away and he's fine. Sheesh! Sounds rather intense to me.

Back to the baby topic . . . Jayce is SO wanting a little brother. He prays to Heavenly Father AND Jesus (two separate prayers -- we continue to have discussions on that) and begs for a boy. He keeps telling me that he already has a baby sister, and he doesn't want another one. Oh, boy. I do warn him that we could very well have a girl, and he doesn't understand why fate would be so cruel. I should specify that Jayce adores Alyssa (and sadly, he's worried that she'll like the baby more than him), but I guess he's ready for a change. Jer and I are fine with whatever, and I'm sure Alyssa is, too. I just hope Jayce can handle the heartbreak of another Pike female.

Easter pictures will be posted soon!!! I'm way behind.

IF we have another, we always say we will not find out, but I am not sure I can handle it. I am a planner and could very well drive me over the edge. I love Jayce's intensity! He is such a little thinker and I hope he is rewarded with a brother. We are very excited to hear!!! :-)

I couldn't imagine not knowing- even if you do have one of each... I need to know! Here's hoping it's a boy!

Hey there Lisa, I could never wait for 9 months to find out what I was having. I always had to know. It is always fun to be able to buy something, or think of names. I don't like surprises either.

Have you gotten Jace's eyes checked? His eyes might be causing those headaches. Also, does he have allergies? Allergies might be causing them too. Zoe gets them a lot and I have noticed if she doesn't drink lots of water, or doesn't eat a well balanced meal she tends to get them more. Just a few suggestions. Headaches are no fun.

We didn't find out the sex of our last little one until she was born. It was neat to be able to be the one to check & announce that we, indeed, can make a girl afterall! LOL

If I did it again, I would probably wait to find out. It really was a lot of fun.

I look forward to hearing your announcement! :)

That is so hilarious that Jayce prays for a brother!! I am excited to know also! I have thought the same thing if I ever had a boy and a girl that I would be surprised but it would be hard to wait!!

Lisa, I am really looking forward to hearing the big news! If you don't post it on May 1st I'll just have to call you on the phone! (Can I do that? Hehehe! This blogging business cancels that out these days...)

Good luck with J's headaches. No fun.

OK, I am so obviously also behind in the blog world, but just saw your news!!! Congrats! And, good luck! ;) I will spare you the details of being "old" and pregnant, but I am convinced it is all going to be that much more worth it once our little guy arrives. I can't wait to hear what you have on the way! Amazingly, as much as Sydnie pleaded for a baby sister, it only took her about 2 mins. to change her mind and decide to also be excited about her baby brother. I'll pray for equal tolerance in Jayce's world ;) Congrats again!
