Ty's Blessing

Oh, the drama! I had just put Ty's blessing outfit on, and it was too small (a detail I should have checked before Sunday). So how does a 6 -12 month outfit not fit a two month-old? It would just have to do. And as we walked into the chapel, Ty started fussing. I knew he was tired -- when he wants to sleep he shuts his eyes really tightly hoping they'll "take." I bounced him in the back, trying to get him to sleep. As I looked pitifully at my husband, I figured the blessing would be eventful. And then a little miracle happened. Ty was just about to drift off as I handed him to Jer, and then he was fast asleep by the time he got to the circle. What a relief! Not that a crying baby is a scandalous thing . . . I just didn't want poor Jer to be flustered. Jer did a great job, Ty did a great job, and things turned out fine. Jer's parents, brother, and nieces were able to come, as well as my parents. I'm grateful for priesthood blessings, I'm grateful for my husband, I'm grateful for family, and I'm grateful for Ty. What a nice day!
