Appendix, be gone!
Last Saturday I got a horrific pain in my side after feeling "off" the entire day. After self-diagnosing on WebMd, I drove to the ER in anticipation of appendicitis. Sadly, I was correct. What lousy timing! Honestly, it wasn't the surgery that stressed me out, it was leaving my one month-old. Here I was, calling Jer at 2 a.m. from the hospital, basically telling him he had to go to the grocery store and start formula feeding (between the CAT scan and antibiotics, I couldn't nurse for awhile). Poor Jer -- he had no idea what to do. I was sure the family would fall apart without me. I was wrong . . . Ty was a trooper with the bottle and the kids had fun with Grandma and Grandpa. We had oodles of help from family (thanks Steve and Linda!), ward members, and neighbors. I am expendable (at least temporarily)! And that's okay.

Oh gee!!! I'm so sorry. I hope you heal quickly.
You can't ever nurse again? If that's the case, you better wrap yourself in an ace bandage sister, or else your going to be in a world of pain.
you are not dispensable. They survived for a short period of time while you were getting better.
Amberlyn, I'm still nursing. I pumped while the antibiotics were in my system, and then I resumed nursing Friday. Ty did great switching back -- it's like I never left.
So sorry to hear you had to go through that!! yikes! Super job pumping and Way to go Ty for switching back like a champ. Hope you are recovering quickly now.
Yikes Lisa! Appendectomies are no fun! I'm glad you had friends and family around to help out. I hope you continue to recover well.
And welcome to the Appendectomy Club!! :)
