Newport Beach -- what a cute bunch!

Jayce was one with the water. We tried to get a pic of him body surfing, but it didn't quite work out. As with last time, he had a goodbye conversation with the ocean as he threw sand in it in hopes the Pacific would remember him. He would be a serious beach bum if we lived there.

Alyssa was one with the sand. Lousy picture, but this is what she did most of the time. She was so fascinated -- rolled around, made sand castles, sifted sand through her fingers, etc. She was really mad at the waves when they ruined her creations. It took two showers and another dip in the hotel pool to finally get the grit out of her hair and various areas.
Other activities -- Rain Forest Cafe, the hotel pool, Discovery Science Museum in Santa Ana, and general frivolity. I'm so glad we went! The kids loved it and didn't want to come home. To placate them I keep reminding them of our next adventure: Baby! (my due date is four weeks from today -- crazy!). Yes, I'm counting down. I've been counting down for months! Actually, the countdown is really the high limit . . . I'm guessing he'll come earlier. Right? Please agree with me? :)

It is me...Holli...I am so glad you guys were able to finally have a family vacation. It is amazing what a vacation will do to get everyone renewed, at least in spirit. Sometimes physically it is exhausting. We can't wait to see you guys. Will you email me your phone number...
:) Its good you got away. Glad you are doing better... Hooray for less than a month! Hooray! Hooray!

How could the ocean forget such a cute little face? Never! :-) Looks like fun! We are all anxiously awaiting that sweet little baby, too.
I'm glad you were able to escape the heat for a few days & have fun together as a family in the process! I'm thrilled for you that you only have 4 weeks left. Here's to hoping it's a tad less for your sake!
I just had another "I miss SoCal so badly!" moment when I read your blog. Seriously, we really miss it out there. I'm glad you guys had so much fun.

Love, Love, Love the Beach!!! Looks like you had a great time, for the last time with just 2 kids!!!
Hope all goes well with the new baby!!!
Did I know you were pregnant? Congrats! I am just a few weeks behind you. From one pregnant Las Vegan to another...Amen about the heat! And yes, I'll say it again. We should really get together.
