Contrary to popular belief, we do not live in a hotel on The Strip. In fact, my
Las Vegas lifestyle is
suburban and mundane (and I like it that way). Rarely do we venture outside our little community, but over the holidays I insisted we head to the
Bellagio. I've always loved the Botanical Gardens, and I still enjoy that cheesy fountain show.
Jer reluctantly agreed, so we embarked on a tourist adventure.
We were greeted with this:

Now
Jer hates The Strip to begin with, but dealing with bumper-to-bumper, impossible traffic is enough to send him running to the hills. As we sat and sat we decided to avoid the
Bellagio parking garage and head to another casino across the street. As pedestrians, it took FOREVER to get to our destination. Truly, this was the most maddening part of our trip.

But the gardens were very pretty -- so decked out for the holidays. The kids enjoyed all the sights to see.

And, of course, the fountain show. Gotta' see the fountain show. The accompanying song was Andrea Bocelli's "Time to Say Goodbye," which is an appropriate ending to this entry. :)

Awww- I wish I would have thought to go down there with the girls to see the pretty decorations! Next year!
Both stops definitely worth the trip! I love them both- but hate going down there. I think it is hilarious that you mention people think you live on the strip- I have gotten that so many times and from fairly intelligent people. Yes, we live in casino basements, we are all cocktail waitresses or dealers. (Sometimes, I use more colorful professions ;-)
Looks so pretty! After your temple square pictures I almost expected you to be all bundled up in Vegas, too!
We loved it too! We were sad when we went because the water show wasn't working until 6 hours later! Glad you made it through all those tourists!
I am bummed I missed going this year. I need to make a mental note to go next. The Bellagio is always worth all the headaches though.
I cannot believe how big Alyssa is. So fun to see you!
Sheri and I love the Bellidoshio, or whatever it's called. We once wandered throughout it and had such a blast.
