Temple Square Visit

I was determined to visit Temple Square this year. My dad works at the Church Office Building, so getting him to spend even more time at "work" took a lot of convincing on my part. He was kind enough to humor our wide-eyed amazement . . . I hadn't been in years. The night was awfully cold, but the lights made it worth it. Besides, you can't beat that Temple Square feeling!

Despite being so, so cold, we look rather composed in this picture.
.
The song "I Love to See the Temple" kept running through my mind that evening. Seriously, what an architectural feat -- the pioneer sacrifice is so evident.
.

This section around the old tabernacle has always been my favorite . . . the fiery trees are so vibrant!
.

Taken from the observation area at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. That place was packed!
.

Of course, I tried to explain the importance of the Savior and His birth, but the kids were more interested in the rope barrier (what is that thing called?). I hope they got an inkling, at least.

Great pictures of the temple grounds. I wish we lived a little closer so we could see the lights at Christmas time. I love looking up to the top of the trees and then spin around. Cool effect.

Beautiful! I love the lights at Temple Square. I'm sure the kids listened to you a little about the Savior!
